He won his first collegiatetournament at the Bill Cullum in October with a blistering openinground 66 on his way to a three-round 207 total. The Arizona nativealso finished 13th at the Pacific Invitational and added anothertop ten to his resume with a ninth at the 2010 Riceintercolleigate.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 19pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong>2008-09 (Sophomore):</strong><br></span> <span style="font-family: Verdana;">Played in everytournament for the Tigers in '08-'09. Best finish was 10th at theBig West Championship. Was second on the team with seven rounds atpar or better, shot a season-low 68 in home state of Arizona at theCowboy Classic.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 19pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong>Summer 2008:</strong><br> Alex played in the U.S. Amateur Qualifier, posting a 68-69 at OroValley Country Club, missing out by just two shots. He also shot a73-66 at the Public Links Qualifier at Cave Creek Golf Course. Headvanced to the round of 16 at the Arizona Amateur, shooting a77-71 to get into match play at Troon Country Club.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 19pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong>2007-08 (Freshman):</strong><br> Johnson adjusted well to his first season of collegiate golf,playing in all but one of the Tigers tournaments during the 2007-08season. He recorded the lowest tournament of the year for theTigers, a 209 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate where he ledPacific to a runner-up finish. He posted scores of 69-68-72 forfourth place at the Long Beach State hosted tournament, only histhird collegiate event. Following his showing there Johnsonremained a consistent force for the Tigers throughout the season,his second best outing came at the Stevinson Ranch Invitationalwhere he posted a 224 to take 16th place. He finished at one-underat the Pacific Invitational and took 33rd place at the Oregon DuckClassic.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 19pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong>High School:</strong><br> Johnson attended Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson,Arizona. The sophomore enjoyed a stellar senior season and hasplayed in numerous junior tournaments across the country. He tookpart in the FCWT National Champion on May 26-28 and took 13th placeat the JGAA Thunderbird Invitational on March 3-4. He fired acareer-low 62 at Tucson National to set the course record. Duringhis stellar high school career Johnson finished sixth at theArizona 5A State Championships in 2005 and 18th in 2006 whileleading his team to a second place finish. In 2006 he finishedfourth at the Thunderbird Invitational and as well as at the JuniorWorld Qualifier. He also won the 5A Super Regional and the NogalesInvitational. During his sophomore year Alex had three runner-upfinishes, at the Arizona Junior Stroke Play, the Phoenix CityJunior and the Tucson City Junior.
